| Reece, the hair dresser |
On Saturday three of my "gym" family and I headed to our hair dressers for a "girls day out". When we planned this, our 12 week challenge with accompanying "nutritional meal plan" was not on the horizon, so our well laid plans of drinks and nibbles had to be sidelined. Instead, we took along healthy drinks, like sparkling water, kombucha and health snacks, celery, carrot sticks, sugar free protein balls and I was really organised and took along my salad and 90 gm's of cold chicken for my lunch.
We do love our hairdresser, who always has flamboyantly coloured hair (this time it was quite tame) and is brilliant at cutting and colouring. His partner and Mum both work in the salon as well and Tony (partner) does massage as well as helping out with hair washing - I could have him wash my hair and then massage my scalp all day - and mixing and applying the colours. Reece's mum is also a hairdresser. I did ask Tony if he'd like to come to my place every night and give me a head massage as I lie in bed, then let himself out, locking the door behind him.

Helen decided on hot pink on the under layer of her hair, so that to look at it, all you see is blond, until the hot pink peaks out, or she braids a portion up, as in the photo; Jo had her hair blonded and then blocks of two darker colours put in in foils - it looked fabulous and young Anna, well, she wanted hers "blended to silver". It will take a couple of goes to get her dark hair stripped out and then the 'silver' (grey really - why these young ones want grey in their hair beats me) will become more obvious. Tony did something with Jo's hair with a hair dryer and big brush as she was going out to her son's dance competition - she text later saying she received several compliments and as I said, it really did look amazing and suited her so well.

This time round I thought I'd just get the bright purples in my hair reapplied as I love the purple Reece mixes up himself - it is so vibrant. Each time I go in to have my foils done, I'm never sure what I am going to see when I put my glasses back on. Reece knows not to put pink or anything to weird and wonderful in it, I'm a bit too conservative for that - he reckons eventually he'll get me looking like a rainbow, but I wouldn't bet on it. However, I lost that bet and love my new multi-coloured hair, even if my delightful brother tells me "it looks like a bird ate berries and then "shat" in your hair." - brothers, gotta love them.

All in all, we had a wonderful day away from "life", enjoying each others company, chatting and relaxing. The scary thing is, there are only two more appointments, already booked, before Christmas - eek.
