Sunday chill day

Monday, 2 October 2017
Sunday started off with a climb up Mt Beerberrum with three others. Mt Beerberrum is a short climb, bitumen all the way, but steep. I told the others to go on ahead and I'd just plod on up slowly. The view from the fire tower up the top is good, looking out one way to the Glasshouse Mountains and another to the ocean. It was a cloudy day and much cooler than it has been, thank goodness.

Then Anna, her sister Sarah and myself drove up to Elanda Point Education Centre & Adventure Park to where other friends, Helen and Daniel had camped overnight. It takes just over an hour to drive up there. The camping area is huge and borders Lake Cootharaba, which is large very shallow lake. It is great for kayaking, wind surfing, stand-up-paddleboarding and of course swimming for the kids.
One of the guys who went up took his drone up with him - it looked like a 4 legged spider/alien and sounded like a hive of bees. He took a group photo of us all on it.  It was a bit too windy for it to fly out over the lake though, which was a bit disappointing.

We left there mid afternoon, dropped the girls off on the way and then I packed my bag and headed to my Aunts for dinner and to watch the NRL Grand Final with her and my cousin and family. I'm not really that interested in NRL or sport for that matter, but it was nice to see everyone.  While it was disappointing that the Cowboys didn't win, being that they are our Queensland team, the Storm were definitely the 2nd favourite in the house.  Then off to bed I went to read my book.

  1. Great photo from the drone. Our kids are in Brisbane for the week and it looks like they have brought some Melbourne weather with them. Hopefully warm enough for swimming.
